What can Cornerstone Lab do for you?

Concept development: Develop your idea, concept or specifications for a product. Create a design plan before beginning the detail design process. Determine if it can be designed within the constraints of current available technology or find a way to make it work within those constraints. Determine how to design it, outline the steps to design it, develop block diagrams and identify key components.

System engineering: Integrate already designed circuit cards into a piece of equipment, or integrate existing off-the-shelf (OTS) equipment into a system. From as small as a few circuit cards in a box to as large as a building full of equipment. Windows, Unix, Linux operating systems, integrate different types and layers of communication protocols, application software as well as hardware.

electronic circuit design: Design circuits, specify semiconductors (discrete or integrated), passive components, connectors, and provide a schematic with a bill of materials (parts list). Design independently, in collaboration with another designer, or under the direction of another designer.

printed circuit card (PCB) layout: Shape the circuit card, place components, route connections, and check the design. Anticipate problem areas and fine-tune the layout for sensitive signal types such as: microwave, high-speed-digital (HSD), differential pairs, controlled impedance, low-noise-analog, high current, high voltage, or mixed signals.

Firmware: Embedded system programming in C, assembly languages and HDL (Hardware Design Language) for microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGAs (Field Programmable Gate Array), or other programmable devices.

Software: Windows programs to control a process or a windows database program to collect, process and analyze data.

Cables, harnesses, and interconnects: Designed to any level of reliability you choose or designed out of your system.

Mechanical design: Design, fabricate and deliver enclosures.

Test, verification and integration: Testing of the design before it is delivered, verifying that it meets specifications, and integrating it into a system. Testing a product that requires third party testing and verification.

Reverse engineering: Create a schematic, bill of materials, wiring diagrams, printed circuit card (PCB) layout, block diagrams, or a theory of operation, for an existing design (card or system) that does not have any documentation.

Re-design: Bring a design up to date, replace obsolete components, add new functionality, reduce cost, make it smaller, faster, or better in some way.

Consulting: Engineering advice, design reviews, expert witness.
